Ben Vuirich  12 July 2009

8 members turned up at the carpark at 7am..i.e. Jim MacKenzie (leader), Shirley, Noelle, Sean, Ian G, Dave K, Kevin and Fraser.
All happy to head for Beinn A' Ghlo as per the programme apart from Kevin and Dave who opted for Ben Vuirich from Glen Brerachan.
Beinn a' Ghlo will be reported separately although I suspect similar (viewless) conditions were experienced.

..but here are few words about the ascent of Ben Vuirich.

Approached from Pitlochry via the A924 and start from at Tarvie in Glen Brerachan.
The walk started at approx 09.15 and was generally in mist and drizzle.. and so no summit views.
However it was a warm day and this approach can be commended by Dave and Kevin as it was a relatively gentle slope to the summit at 903m.
A good stalker bothy was available for protection from the elements approx. 3km from start and proved a pleasant stopping point for a wee dram on our descent.
Arrived back at car by 14.30 and were in the Moulin bar by 15.00.  A most enjoyable day.
